Wizoop
Child Safety and Minors Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 5 October 2026
Children play on WIZOOP, so we keep their information to a minimum, never advertise to them, and take reports about their safety seriously.
1. Our commitment
Children and young people need extra care. WIZOOP is built so that a child can play without giving us personal information, and so that the adults who share quizzes with children have the controls they need.
2. Accounts are for adults
A WIZOOP account, which is needed to create, publish or host quizzes, is for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we may close it.
The kids’ corner is meant for children to play with a parent, teacher or guardian. Its activities are published by WIZOOP.
3. How children play
A child does not need an account. They type a nickname and play. We do not ask for a real name, email address, phone number, address, location or photo, and we ask everyone, including creators, never to put them in a quiz.
What we do keep about a play is limited to the nickname, the team (if the quiz uses teams), a random identifier saved in the child’s browser, their answers, scores and timing. See the Privacy Notice for how long.
A parent or teacher can help a child pick a nickname that does not reveal who they are.
4. If you share a quiz with children
A school, teacher, organisation, parent or guardian who uses WIZOOP with children is responsible for having the right to do so under the law, including any permission needed from parents or guardians. In particular, you should:
- decide who is responsible for the children’s information, and tell parents or guardians how it is used;
- collect as little as possible, and use nicknames, never real names;
- choose a leaderboard that hides names for young players, and turn team standings and public sharing off if they are not needed;
- keep the quiz private or unlisted unless you want strangers to play it;
- follow the Community Guidelines.
5. No advertising or profiling
We do not show advertising on WIZOOP, and we do not use children’s information for advertising, behavioural profiling or any purpose unrelated to running the quiz. Before we introduce any feature that profiles children, makes automated decisions about them or tracks them in a systematic way, we will carry out a specific privacy and legal review.
6. Parents and guardians
If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern, or want to ask about information connected with your child, write to [email protected]. To help us find the right entry, tell us the quiz link, the nickname and roughly when your child played. We may ask for reasonable proof of who you are and that you are the child’s parent or guardian before we act.
7. Reporting a safety concern
Report threats, abuse, exploitation or any content that is unsafe for a child to [email protected]. Include the quiz link or code and what you saw. We review reports quickly, remove content where needed, and pass serious cases to the proper authorities where the law requires or permits it.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or child helpline first.
8. This policy
Version 1.0, effective 5 October 2026. We will update it as the law and WIZOOP change.
